Overview

Marks Entry is the process of recording student scores for examinations. This includes entering marks for written exams, practicals, assignments, and calculating final grades.

Accessing Marks Entry

  • Log in as Teacher or Administrator
  • Navigate to ExaminationsMarks Entry
  • Select exam and subject

    Entering Marks

    Step-by-Step Process

  • Select:
  • - Exam - From scheduled exams - Class - Student class - Section - If applicable - Subject - The subject you're marking
  • Click Get Students
  • System displays list of students
  • Entering Marks

    For each student:

  • Enter marks in appropriate fields:
  • - Theory Marks - Written exam score - Practical Marks - Lab work - Homework/Assignment - Ongoing assessment
  • System calculates:
  • - Total marks (sum of all components) - Grade (based on grade system) - Pass/Fail status
  • Save marks

    For faster entry:

  • Use Tab to move between fields
  • Use Enter to save
  • Up/Down arrows to navigate

    Marks Entry Modes

    Individual Entry

    Enter marks one student at a time:

    • Use when need careful review
    • Good for practical exams
  • Can add comments per student
  • Bulk Entry

    Upload marks from spreadsheet:

  • Click Import Marks
    • Download template
    • Fill in marks
    • Upload file
  • System validates and imports
  • Sample Marks

    Generate sample data for testing:

  • Click Generate Sample
    • System creates random marks
    • Review and adjust

    Mark Validation

    The system validates entries:

    Automatic Checks

  • Range validation - Marks within 0 to total marks
  • Passing criteria - Minimum marks met
  • Missing marks - Highlighted for incomplete entry
